Sony HT SF2000 Help - Blu-ray Forum

I got this system in today and am running into some problems that someone may be able to help with.

The unit has only the PS3 connected to it right now and the test tones on the receiver went fine, so no issues with actual sound.

The receiver has hdmi in from the ps3 and hdmi->DVI out to my Panasonic TV.

Video comes through fine.

Audio on the other hand does not. PS3 setup says that the device doesn't support it.

Is it because of the end dvi-out?

Check your audio output from the PS 3....

How is this system by the way...
I was waiting for BB or CC to get it in so i can actually see it....

Well, that's just it. If I go through audio setup on the PS3, when I select hdmi, it tells me that this device can't do audio on it and it backs me out of it. If I do it manually instead of automatic, i can select everything but I get no sound.

I do get sound if I go the optical route, which at least proved I could get sound from the PS3 to the receiver. But if it doesn't take the hdmi, it really defeats the point of it since I wanted the PCM sound/truehd available as well.
