Question "Surf's Up" Blu-ray...Worth buying?

I saw a whole bunch of Blu-ray copies of "Surf's Up" at Hastings Entertainment Store for $14.99. And if anyone has the movie, could you tell me if it was any good, and if it would be worth adding to my collection? Thanks!

Blu-ray for that price?! Heck, snatch a few up and use them for gifts.

Worth watching. Good plot and excellent CGI.

Isn't it funny how some people DETEST CGI effects, but love CGI movies?

Movie is great! I mean it isnt a Pixar movie but It is a great movie. Amazing PQ and great story. Its done in documentary type style. My 3 year old daughter loves it as well so I have watched it about 100 times!

Yeah, it's a funny/cute film with excellent animation/PQ. I'd put it a few notches above TMNT but below Ratatouille. I certainly can't imagine anyone hating it.

Loved the movie, Surf's Up. I say grab it. Totally blew the other penguin movie out of the water--Happy Feet...now that movie blew.

Surfs up was my first blu ray purchase. For 14 or 15 bucks, I'd say grab it seeing that it's half price. It's a great movie for any animation buff out there.

I didn't like the digital grain that they added but the movie itself was pretty good. I'd say its probably worth $15.

SNATCH IT! GREAT MOVIE! It's very funny/cute (and i have an obsession with penguins) so it was one of the first Blu-rays that I bought. PQ is great as well.

Just the extra added feature on the technology behind the 3D camera work is worth the price the movie is great. my nephews and nieces love em

GRAB IT. PQ just shy of Pixar stuff....but still excellent.

They researched a LOT about the surfing culture and nailed it. From the old school longboarders to the new age rip-shred-lacerate crowd. The dialogue is cool. The Casting (voices) are good choices. The surfing footage at the end is very creative in terms of camera angles and positions and the waves move in an accurate way. PLUS its fun and funny.

I'll add my name to the list of endorsements for this one. I got it as my freebie from the recent mail-in Sony B2GO and it was well worth the money I didn't spend on it! Some genuine humor, good PQ and is loved by all of my family.

Cheers

QM

Bought it on release day, fun movie...the CGI isn't perfectly "clean" because they used a little bit of grain to create the "documentary feel" of the movie. But the animation's great.

Highly recommended

Great movie! Awesomely done. But I see here that some people didn't understand that the grain was there because it was done to be like a documentary... If you want a "clean" animation movie, look at Ratatouille, Cars, Chicken Little or Meet The Robinsons. This one isn't supposed to be clean, it's supposed to be a documentary.

Anyway, great audio, great picture quality, great fun, highly recommended.

EDIT: Sorry cathexist, I didn't see you had basically posted the exact same thing as me

I'm surprised that every reply so far has been in favor of the film! I am not going to change that, because I really liked the movie, and I think it is worth purchasing for that price. The only downside of the film is that it's not very long; I think it was around an hour and ten minutes.
