Default Direct TV Universal Remote

I just got the Direct tv hr21 receiver/dvr, and I want to use its remote to control most of my other components in my system. It works fine other than a couple of bugs that I want to ask about. First, I can't seem to find a button that will bring up the info banner on my sony a2000 tv. Also I am unable to find any way to use the remote to dim any of my displays on my components. Any suggestions?

The remote only controls basic things like volume, power and mute on my Sony receiver, so I'm guessing it won't be much better for a TV.

I understand the Harmony 880 universal remote may be the ticket if you can afford to get one. I may get the 890 - a little more but seems to be worth it. Amazon has some pretty good prices on them.
