Bizarre to see “A CURZON FILM” branding over Curzon Artificial Eye. Or is this just an early mockup? Back to the days of Curzon Film World.

Hope they do a national reissue and include the Tartan DVD extras.

Still upset about the pivot to back catalogue over new films.

For foreign language films back catalogue is more and more where the viable market is.

I’m guessing it depicts the antagonists?

Looking at the DVD artworks, the best are two of the Tartan covers, one with half the bicycle, the other with the girl, the dog and the bicycle. Less sold on the train tunnel on Tartan’s other release, or the yellow background on the Altitude DVD.

The French and US Blu-rays seem to have good art.

Yep. Just looks like a screen grab from the film, nowhere near as iconic as the classic bicycle profile shot that does a far better job of illustrating the tone and crux of the film.

Pity they're NOT using the correct title.

Received today, it's barebones so I'm glad I didn't get rid of my French edition yet. And it has the ugliest and most useless reversible cover I've ever seen. At least the price is decent.

What’s on the reverse?

I’ll just stick with the DVD for now, maybe if I really like it I’ll upgrade to the Blu if it gets really cheap.

Back cover claims it's 1.66:1 (I don't have the disc, just saw in HMV). Of course this is Curzon/Artificial Eye we're talking about, so I don't trust that info in the slightest.

That Curzon logo on the spine is the definition of in your face. I think the title should be more important than the distributor.

Yikes, haha, someone seeing the spine would assume it was for a film called Curzon, possibly a biopic of the British Viceroy of India. Also, it would be a nightmare to arrange in a collection. Can you imagine seeing a row of cases, all labeled Curzon? Are we supposed to identify them by the spine numbers? What do they think we are, Criterion fans?

Or is that the reverse (inner) side of the cover?

Sounds like the aspect ratio is the only thing they didn't bloody botch. Are the other territory BDs any good? Keen to upgrade my DVD.

I still have my HD-DVD of this - one of the best sounding early HD releases. Sounds like I may be keeping it
