Yeah I don't get why it got bad reviews and some people bashing it.. They always want to compare to the originals..
That last scene when he grabs the girls mother thru the mirror looks so sexy. I loved this movie. Watched it many many times.

Upon watching it for the first time in the theater, I thanked God it was dead serious and they didn't modeled it after Nightmare 4-6. I thought Jackie Haley did a good job as the new Freddy and I loved Rooney Mara in this (despite the fact she hated working on it). Shame we never got to see a sequel...

There's a reason why this movie was bashed. The original was creative and original, the remake repeated or scaled down those ideas. Also, the CGI makeup was bland. Makeup by itself could have been just as good or even better. I know they used real makeup on the movie, but they also put CGI on top of it. People also got used to the charm of Robert Englund, replacing him with a dull rehash of the character did not help this movie. I'm not saying remakes shouldn't happen, we've had several amazing remakes. It, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Thing. This movie wasnt like those.

I respect your opinion on the remake, I personally would much rather see the 1984 classic get 4K treatment, I wouldn't mind the sequels on 4K neither (even though part 5 & 6 did sucked badly and Freddy vs. Jason was just ok).

The remake is dreadful. I want the original.

Look, I'm a Robert Englund fan myself, and he will ALWAYS be Freddy.

But if this got a UHD release, I WOULD buy it, in hopes that it sent the message that we want the others on UHD as well.

I wouldn't buy 2010 on its own, but would love a complete box set. I still have the original DVD set, as I heard the blu-ray release wasn't a great upgrade.
A 4K remaster of the series would be very welcome, and a great excuse to rewatch them all for me.

I will pay the studios responsible for this trash, to never release it in 4K.
