Default Sisu 2 (2025)

Yep, Sisu, the very best action film made in Finland is getting a sequel. Director is the same, Jalmari Helander. It's very rare that Finnish film gets a steelbook treatment, but this one got it!

Interesting to see where they take this one. Had one hell of a good time with the first one.

Too bad it didn't get an Atmos soundtrack on 4K disc.

The original had a sort of gritty, grungy, feet-planted-in-enough-reality veneer which for a good long while kept me engaged, but I started to tune out when it got more and more outlandish as the movie went along. When his plane
[Show spoiler]crashed nearly vertically into the earth and the protagonist emerged alive
, that's my tolerance levels for bullshit reached I'm afraid.

If ever a movie needed a sequel, it was definitely Sisu!

Still thought that poster / steel was his hat. Not a knife.

I loved Sisu. I saw it twice in the theater. I'm shocked it's getting a sequel considering it did 11 Million worldwide. The budget was pretty small, but still. I guess the budget for the sequel is more than double that of the original.

I liked the first film in theaters when I saw it opening weekend, and will consider the 2nd. This guy is like a machine with what he manages to survive. Determination for his goal.

Good to hear it did well enough to receive a sequel. Will say not sure one is there feels like a film better left as a solo. Have to wait and see.

Will he speak in the sequel or have a nearly silent performance again? I would actually prefer a prequel to get more backstory.

Unpopular opinion warning...

Really liked the first 2/3rds of Sisu, then it just got progressively silly, and as someone with published crap comic strips and clean-up animation experience, I'm loathe to use this word...cartoonish. Maybe it's great if you take your edibles at the opening titles so they hit at the same time the film abandons physics and logic.

Watch the sequel cut to the "The Planet Zeist" and Sisu is revealed as an Immortal.

Silent, but deadly.

Since Wick got 4 and did well I'm not surprised this is coming.

To be fair the plane crashed into a swamp and since suomi (finland) is the land of water and swamps helps a bit for the immersion. Tough they should have thrown way more moss and muck in the air and have proper slurp sound to indicate a mossy swamp

Yeah no doubt that's one way to look at it.
