My big question is: when are these 2017 high end Sony and LG sets going to go on backorder, and closeout, at Best Buy? As in, when do you think things like the 930E, Z9D, B7, E7 are no longer going to be deliverable to the stores from their warehouses? When this happens the stores will be doing BIG discounts on just their display models. It's inevitable to be happening sometime in the next 1-6 weeks, by early March. I'm considering checking in with the stores every week and trying to snag a high-end display model. It's just going to magically pop up one day. These $2500-5000 display sets are going to be available a single time, for ~$1000-1500, when they have to completely remove them from the sales floor. The regularly sold boxed units don't really ever go on closeout pricing; they are simply sold until they are gone. I'm mainly referring to display televisions Best Buy stores. I'm not sure if its a wise move to buy a display OLED...but on the other hand if its been playing for one whole year with little sign of IR then that's probably a good thing. But I would absolutely love to snag something like a Z9D for dirt cheap. What do you guys think of all this? If money is no object for you then I'm really not interested in your rationalization. I'm on a tight budget, as are a lot of people. i.e. "just buy a new 940E" has no business in this discussion; that's not what this thread is about. |
