Good to see that physical media releases of older television series are continuing in Germany, and that CBS/Paramount are still licensing out to boutique labels (the Blu-ray releases of Bonanza's first two seasons being made widely available compared to Plaion's Blu-ray release of The Streets of San Francisco is welcome).

Thank you for the thread. I am definitely getting these! The Virginian is done, and now off to Bonanza. The price though, wow, I don't remember The Virginian being this expensive.
Also hope they come with slipcases (the amazon listing doesn't show them).

When looking at the front cover artwork for the Bonanza: Season 1 and 2 boxsets, seeing that they are going to be five discs each I have wondered how many episodes are going to be on each disc (bearing in mind there were thirty-two episodes in the first season and thirty-four in the second season).

On a separate note, I'm also wondering how likely it is that a German boutique label could do a Blu-ray boxset of the original Hawaii Five-O.

Well if you look at the covers i uploaded[they were before the picture changed on amazon it looks like a slip box similar to the virginian].

I noticed the back cover says English and German DTS-HD MA 5.1. Yet the database here and other says Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono. I wonder which is correct?

Don't know if there will be a website review for the Bonanza season 1 and 2 German Blu-ray boxsets, but hopefully some comments/observations are posted in this thread soon.

it's a standard 5 disc case
and like the virginian you can reverse the cover art to eliminate the rating logo

It says Region B but it plays on a Region A Player.

in the menu the selection is English 2.0 DD & German 2.0 DD

But my Sony player says “DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 48 kHz” (Season 1).

There are 7 episodes per disc, each episode divided in 8 chapters.
There are episode titles printed on every disc including the original english titles.
