Shout! Factory will release Prancer for the first time on Blu-ray on October 3.

A farm girl nurses a wounded reindeer she believes is one of Santa's, hoping to bring it back to health in time for Christmas.

Her holiday spirit inspires those around her, something her disheartened father is having trouble understanding.



I know there are people who despise this film, but I have good memories of watching this every Christmas with my grandparents.

Starring Sam Elliott, Cloris Leachman, and a pre-Jurassic Park Ariana Richards.

I saw this for pre-order on the main page and my exact thought was "holy crap oh my God." I watched it so much as a kid, not just during Christmas, that my VHS copy became unwatchable... I'll be getting this for sure, might not be right away but before Christmas at least.

Carrie Henn is who you're talking about. Aliens is the only movie she ever did. The girl in Prancer is Rebecca Harrell Tickell.

Why are you afraid to see it again? Prancer is not a blood curdling horror movie it's about a reindeer, which has nothing to do with the true meaning of Christmas.

I think it's more about feeling silly/embarrassed at what types of films used to entertain me as a kid. Sounds kind of stupid I know. Maybe the movie still holds up well for me even as an adult though.

Honestly couldn't have said it better. I wish more Christmas movies like this got a Blu-Ray release.

I've never seen this, but my wife loves it. Its one of her favorite Christmas movies and the last couple of years she's always scoured streaming services for an HD version. Looks like she'll be getting an early Christmas present!

Also, I love that original artwork, I hope that is the reverse cover!
