Shadows (Dreamworks Animation, 2019)

Remember this? Me and My Shadow was announced in 2010 and planned for 2013, moved to 2014 and cancelled in the end, when Dreamworks was going through some changes. Director Mark Dindal (Emperors' New Groove) got replaced by Alessandro Carloni and the movie would be starring Bill Hader, Josh Gad and Kate Hudson. The script went through the hands of different writer teams and would tell the story about a man with a boring life, who's shadow starts to lead his own life and spice things up. The animation would have been a combination of traditional drawings and computer animation. Production was in early stage of development.

Now forget all that.

Six years later, this project is alive again. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World en The World’s End) will write and direct the new version of Shadows. Wright also wrote for Ant-Man and The Adventures of TinTin. He will get the help of David Walliams, one of the stars and writers of Little Brittain. 'Shadows' will have a completely new angle ... And the result is expected in 2019.
