Nice.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually enjoyed the remake.

Hopefully a UK version will come out around the same time (more chance of receiving it on or just before Halloween, as it always gets a viewing that night).

Nah mate. I'm pulling your plug and keeping all your discs. I'll just tell your family in my most solemn voice - "It's what he would've wanted"

I'm pumped for this but not as pumped as I am for They Live and Prince of Darkness, since The Fog was already given a very good remaster from SF. Their releases of They Live and Prince of Darkness look like absolute garbage though.

Yep, there's no region coding or locking on this format. Every UHD disc is region free.

Meh, Shout took an old, beat-up IP and made it look like an old, beat-up IP. Their Fog transfer is better than every other previous attempt by far, granted, but when you're dealing with an SD-upscaled contrast-boosted-to-shit monstrosity like what StudioCanal did on their Fog Blu-ray then it's not too hard to top. Shitting in a bag would still have beaten that.

Prince of Darkness I can take or leave, it's not Carpenter's finest hour IMO but I am so there for They Live and The Fog. EFNY next please, and no, Shout didn't do a good job with that one either.

The Shout BD is bad. They let Dean Cundy revise it and now whole scenes are tinted blue like he did to Halloween it just does not look natural like the DVD I still have. Hope they keep him away from this he should not be trusted after messing up Halloween and the Thing so many times.

I can't remember it being as rough as you describe although I may be more forgiving since it's the only release to get the colors right.

Amazing!! One of my favorite. And Prince of Darkness, which should be an even better improvement! Day one!
But do I wait and see if this comes to the US, or order now? (Hmm, tried to order and looks like they don't ship to the US)
