Given that Target.com preorders promos (typically a free $5 gift card) have become more common, let's just use this thread for now.

Note that since target.com transitioned to the new website design, the preorder price guarantee no longer appears on listings and there is no other mention of it on target.com. Therefore, price adjustments are YMMV for now.

Orders that are placed with a card that expires before the release date or is replaced by a new card will be canceled. Since Target is still issuing the new Chip and PIN Redcards, it may be worth considering using a different form of payment on preorders without a release date.

Please pay with a card that expires after the release date for this item. Otherwise, your pre-order will be canceled.
If you activate a new card after you've placed a pre-order with the old card, your pre-order will be canceled.

Current Preorder Promotions

$5 gift card when you preorder Beauty and the Beast, Get Out or Logan movie at target.com/preorder. Offer available online only. Quantities limited. May not be applied to previous orders. If you choose the ship to home delivery option for your purchase, the gift card will ship separately. If you choose to pick up your item at the store, your gift card will be shipped after you have picked up the qualifying item. eGiftCards and Mobile GiftCards are non-refundable. Only physical GiftCards can be returned with the promotional item. Your account will be charged the amount of the qualifying item reduced by a Target discount in an amount equal to the amount of the gift card, and a separate charge for the amount of the gift card will be assessed. If you want to return the item you purchased to a Target Store, you may either keep the physical gift card and just return the qualifying item (you will be refunded the amount of the qualifying item reduced by the amount of the Target discount), or you can return the qualifying item and the physical gift card for a full refund using the online receipt. If you return the item you purchased by mail, and keep the gift card; you will be refunded the amount of the qualifying item reduced by the amount of the Target discount..
