There's also another thread with virtually the same title as this one that was started many months ago. The SEARCH function exists for a reason folks.

"all three"?? What about Laserdisc? I had a giant collection of those. Hell, I owned one or two flicks on Beta and Video CD! But it's all moot because:

The list is too long. But my three formats would be Laserdisc, DVD and Blu-ray (and HD DVD, which I count as one with Blu-ray). I never purchased even a single movie on VHS.

At its peak, my Laserdisc collection consisted of about 300 titles. I'd say that 90% of those were eventually repurchased on DVD and then 75% of those were eventually repurchased on Blu-ray or HD DVD. That would be about 200 titles that I've owned on three formats.

As I said, the list is too long.

Around 200+ titles and I'm trying not to think of all that money I wasted just to buy again. Star Wars and Blade Runner are the winners though. I had at least 6 or 7 different versions of each.

Hmm I think they only movies I've owned across these three formats is True Romance, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction & Clerks. I never really acquired much of a VHS or DVD collection.

I also think at some point if you buy movies over multiple formats the movies end up owning you, you do not own the movies.

Sid & Nancy is the only one I purchased on VHS/DVD/Blu-ray. I didn't buy VHS I just recorded off HBO and rented.

For the most part, I bought laserdisc rather than VHS, but I think the sentiment is the same.

laserdisc/DVD/Blu-Ray:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Barbarella
The Cutting Edge
Gattaca
Metropolis
Purple Rain
Run Lola Run
Three Colors Trilogy
Wild Things

and those on four or more formats:
Chasing Amy (LD, DIVX, DVD, BD)
A Charlie Brown Christmas (VHS, LD, DVD, BD)
Tron (LD three versions, CED, VHD, VHS two versions, Beta, UMD, DVD three versions, BD)

I never started with VHS, I started at laserdisc.

The only vhs I ever bought were the Little Rascals collection.

I've owned Star Wars on every format. Still have the original and 97 Special Editions on laserdisc.
