Default Asking people at the movie theater to stop interrupting you from enjoying a movie.

Watching movies at the theater can be annoying due to people who talk or do other things to interrupt viewers from enjoying movies. What is the craziest or most risky thing you have done to stop an annoying movie goer? I am sure that my answer will be tame. Some woman stepped in fron of me and my wife and sheremained standing while talking to her friend. We could not see nor hear the movie. I shouted at her: Excuse me, you are standing in our way and we can't see the movie! She stared back as if she were going to reply, but she just moved and sat down. So what is your craziest story of this sort? How far have you gone to enjoy your movie watching experience and to stop annoying movie goers?

I've usually had a good experience at the movies but one time I turned around and told a man and woman to shut up because I didn't pay 20$ to listen to them run their **** mouth all night. Nothing was said back and I didn't hear another peep.

When I watched The Force Awakens for the first time, there was some people in the row front to me constantly chatting. Not really loud, but they were close so I could hear them and it was annoying. The first time I was so mad they wouldn't stop I kicked their seat from behind. Seemed that was enough for them to get the messege. I was wrong. During
[Show spoiler]Han Solo's death
they kept chatting so I sushed them as loud as I could as close as I could. They pissed me off so much ruining a key moment in the film.

One time this guy in a chicken suit came in and sat right in front of me. I couldn't see past his stupid chicken head so I told him to move. Then we locked eyes and started fighting all throughout the city.

I was dressed up in a chicken suit coming back from a costume party, I went to take my seat but there was a guy sitting behind me who told me to move and said my chicken head was stupid. We then locked eyes and proceeded to fight throughout the city.

I was in a movie theater and all of a sudden a guy started fighting with another guy who was wearing a chicken suit. I shushed them as loud as I could and they wouldn't stop. Finally, I offered them $20 to take it outside and they left. Then, after the movie, I saw them still fighting in the parking lot.

Kind of the opposite actually. My buddy and I went to watch Arrival. We were chatting about upcoming movies. Mind you, the lights hadn't dimmed yet. The local advertisements were coming on.

He turned around 3 times and said guys can you be quiet please. Also mind you, we were whispering the entire time. He just happened to sit one row in front of us.

I'm a passive aggressive person. You better believe I was gonna mess with him during the movie. Finally the 4th time he was getting ready to turn his head, I said dude chillout the trailers haven't even started yet. He was shaking in his seat like he was gonna physically do something.

If I see a phone screen pop out during a theatre visit (during main feature only, not trailers/commercials), I give them a 5 second count before loudly and politely requesting them to put it away... making sure to say please... the first time. A second request still uses please, but includes not-so-subtle undertones of annoyance and disapproval. Usually that does the trick for the individual while conveying a message to the entire crowd.

One time I had to make a 3rd attempt... and this was someone who was on their phone for 2 to 3 minutes at a time. I basically said the following laced with pure disgust, "Listen. This is the last time that I'm going to ask you to put the damn phone away. If you are going to act like a f@cking child, I'm gonna come down there and treat you like one. I'll take your damn phone away until after the movie. Got it?" The phone disappeared quicker than previously and THE AUDIENCE APPLAUDED ME! I couldn't believe it! Probably my worst experience turned into one of my best!

Oh, you're supposed to ask people at the theater to remain quiet? Must've missed that memo. I prefer to fully McAvoy from Wanted the unruly person should the occasion ever arise.

Chicken costume? What did you go to see - Chicken Run? Anyways this is the reason why I don't go to the theaters anymore. Knowing myself, If somebody annoys me in a theater, I would haul off and knock the hell out of them. So therefore to keep me from going to jail for a assault, I just stay in the comfort of my own home, and enjoy my home theater. I've invested a lot of money into my home theater, so I might as well enjoy it and get my moneys worth.

Never been brave enough to say anything. But I've been known to occasionally let out a loud "Shhh" in a way that doesn't make it obvious where it's coming from. A couple years ago I finally got to see somebody actually escorted out by the manager after a complaint, which was cool. Had never seen that before in person. She was being really obnoxious, one of those people that laughs exceedingly loud at every joke, no matter how minuscule, then feels the need to repeat said jokes to her friends sitting with her and laugh at them again.

Many years ago, before I was born, my aunt and uncle were at a theater and these two guys behind them kept kicking their seats. When they wouldn't stop after a couple of requests to and started to deliberately catch my aunt's hair (which was really long at the time) beneath their feet, my uncle, who was something of a brawler in his youth, turned around and knocked both of them out. As he told it, when the movie was over and they got up to leave, both guys were still out cold. Haha!

I honestly don't mind some occasional whispering or wrapper crinkling here and there. A little bit of noise is expected. Usually, I'm more annoyed when I'm sitting in an empty theater and someone sits just a few seats away from me or directly in front of me. I just want to look at them and go "This entire empty theater and you sit right next to me?!"
