Per Olive Flims:

Our release of DARK BLUE includes "Code Blue" behind the scenes and "By the Book" production design featurettes.

I took this off my wishlist after I realized there's already an MGM Blu. Seems pointless to license a title that already has a good release and is still widely available

No. Olive releases never have subs. The MGM disc does have subs.

Okay, so subs on the original and extras on the Olive (worthwhile?) - anyone seen/heard both? Is there any AQ/PQ advantage to either release?

Count me in one of Russell's best in a long line of great films

comedy, action, drama guy can do it all and he doesn't think too hard about it either like the method actors

when is the academy going to give him an honorary oscar? they've blown it so many times and especially with Dark Blue

Russell is entertaining as a personality and he has been in a lot of good and fun movies, but he isn't what I'd call a great actor. He isn't bad as he works for what he plays in most of the time, but I'd call him more of a movie star like Sly, Willis and Arnie (although he is a better actor than those guys). Him being a kick ass movie star is plenty good enough for me. I enjoy him in almost everything I've seen him in and that is what matters to me. Not the awards.
