Default Yamaha RX-V371 Won't turn on

Hi there,

EDIT : i used the reset buttons and it actually turned on but yeah like i said it clicks and clicks and turns off. i suppose that's the protection mode?

EDIT 2 : Well this is weird, i guess it IS on it's last legs but i did manage to temporarily make it work after the reset. Works on PS4 and cable box. but for some reason the receiver didn't like the PS3 at ALL. tried different HDMI wires and even different HDMI slot but the receiver kept powering off the moment i tuned it on the PS3. oh well. but yeah i guess it's not long for this world. So my question about a new receiver still stands for the near future!

Need some help. my Yamaha RX-V371 as of today won't turn on at all. For a few days when powering it on it sometimes turned off on its own(read cuz it went into protection mode?). but today, nothing at all. totally 'dead'

Had it for 6 years and reading around a bit online it seems to be a fairly recurring problem where the transformer or capacitors are fried (no clue about all this, just relaying what i've read lol)

Not sure what i can do with my low knowledge about all this. So if there's an easy fix then please do share but i think i have to get a new receiver.

So if i do get a brand new receiver will any receiver work with my current Yamaha speakers that came with the home theater in a box from Yamaha i purchased 6 years ago?

As long as it's the speaker connectors that you put the actual exposed wire in little clamps? do all new receivers still have these? or is it something from the past?

Thanks!
