Timely thread, as just five minutes ago I realized that my 8-film collection (from the Wizards Collection, which originally redeemed in SD) has been upgraded to 4k. I thought Apple’s plan was to give free upgrades from HD to 4k where available, but not free upgrades from SD to HD. Perhaps it’s a glitch which will be reversed, but perhaps it’s the beginning of a trend. Fingers crossed...
ADDENDUM: I've deleted the download for Philosopher's Stone from my Mac and am redownloading it; however, it is still downloading as SD. So I guess perhaps I DIDN'T get upgraded and I got caught by the iTunes trap of showing you on an iPad what CAN be available rather than what you actually have. Very misleading. Sorry. ADDENDUM to the ADDENDUM (?!): I also tried streaming Philosopher's Stone from the iPad and while it doesn't say whether it's streaming at SD or HD it immediately started playing the movie rather than going to a title screen (where you can select to play the film or to watch iTunes Extras). So probably more evidence I still just have the SD copies. I'll go away now... ![]() Last edited by bdmckinl; 01-04-2018 at 12:25 AM. |
