This is good news. The virtual reality craze may inadvertently bring about a resurgence in appreciation for 3D/stereoscopic imagery. I never understood the appeal of 2D 180 or 360 movies. Everything should be 3D. I still use my Fuji 3D camera and my HTC Evo 3D phone camera. The main thing is getting people to realize the value of 3D and keeping the concept of 3D alive in as many consumer devices as possible. I would still love for Apple to add an autostereoscopic screen option to iPhone, for instance (like the HTC phone, where the 3D can be turned on and off).
