Hello all,
So, a few months ago I got a Sony 75XBR940E. I've gotten 40 UHD discs in 4 months (Yeah, I know, I have a problem), and have been enjoying revisiting some of my blurays on this fantastic Tv. I've looked up calibration settings (some of these really helped me improve the PQ - although, as I understand, calibration settings can be different, even for the same model Tv) and I have the general bluray calibration discs, etc. The Tv looks pretty awesome. However, I was wanting to just get a pro-calibration done, just to ensure I'm not missing anything. I was looking at the Best Buy calibration for $250 - but now I've been frightened away after reading many reviews. Some say their Tv's "never looked better", some felt there was no difference at all (my personal fear), and a good number said it looked worse or even messed up their Tv. So, my question to my 4K forum buddies:
I know the Pro-Calibration settings I'm using aren't specific to my Tv, but they look quite accurate and I have a hard time believing calibration will change that much. I don't mind the $250 price tag, but I will feel a bit like I threw money down the drain if it results in moving a couple of settings up or down 1 notch. Thanks in advance for your responses. ![]() |
