Default Switching between accounts??

Is anyone else having a problem switching between countries in their accounts?

I have three accounts for Ireland, the UK and the US but since doing a reset at the weekend I can't switch between those properly.

The problem seems to be that when I switch accounts the location is not changing.

When I add my UK account the location stays as the United Kingdom when I want to switch to my Irish account, but there is no problem switching between the US and UK.

I don't know if I can go to Apple support about this because I'm unsure about the situation regarding using accounts outside their region.

Yeah wouldn’t be the brightest of things to do, the fact you’ve even considered it is a bit [emoji33]
No issues for me but then I only have a UK & US account.

I was just on a Live Chat with iTunes billing support - they can't help with a technical problem - and I said I had a couple of guests from the US and UK and was told there is no issues with using your accounts outside of your home country or with adding them to another users AppleTV.

The agents attitude made it seem like it was daft question and that they made it to used this way so what is the problem.

That’s fair enough, one way to get around it I suppose.
So for future reference my US cousin is staying with me [emoji23]

It sounds like you might need to check your password settings as I did the same as you and it was a password issue.

First you need to sign out the Ireland account in Settings, then return and go back to Sign in page, then you should see there's an option to change iTunes store location (in this case you should choose Ireland), and finally you can sign in the Ireland account. This only happens after I switch to UK account and has to do it every time.

What password settings are you talking about?

In the Account section - where you can select always require/never require?

What you are describing here is what I have to do now but this is not how it is supposed to work.

You can add multiple AppleID from multiple countries and should be able to switch easily between them without needing to sign out or enter the password each time.

Yeah. For some reason when I switched it wasn't saving the new account details properly, I remember switching something in there and it worked after that.

I always set those to be "15 minutes" and "No (for free downloads)". I just checked that and everytime I sign back into one of the three accounts those password settings revert to the default of "always require" and "yes".

So you are onto something there but no matter how what I change the settings too it doesn't help with the account switching. EDIT: You are correct, sir. I went to the Password Settings of each account and set them to the default options and I can now switch between each account normally. So you did this too? Have you had to leave the settings on default or been able to change them? I prefer not having to input the store password for every purchase and rental but it is easier than the problem of switching accounts.

Also I turned off Siri in Settings and I select to not use it with each switch and this allows me to switch between UK, US and Irish accounts with no problem.

EDIT: I added the UK and it all went funky again. Even after another reset the problem persists.

I have mine on Never and No respectively, its been great since, never had to put a password in, switches straight away.

Glad you got it sorted mate, people over on avf, like gonzo said, just can't work it out!

Edit - just seen your edit, try never and No as settings, I have no family sharing or changed any siri settings.

I had same issues last week but havent sorted it yet.

When I changed between US and Canada and back again it was fine.

But when I changed from US to UK and then back, the location stayed on UK. I had to delete the UK account, switch to US, log in to US, switch location again to US and then my US movies showed up in full.

I havent fixed the problem but as I can work the US account right now, I'm good.

Adding the UK account seems to be the cause of the problem. Had to reset and sign in & out a couple of times but my Irish and US accounts are okay now.

The UK account seems to be the problem for me too.

Any time I add it the other accounts go wonky. I had my Irish account displaying my US library and vice versa.

There was reset and a few sign in/outs to get it it back to normal. I too have to leave the UK account out for now. Not a big deal as it is only a few TV shows that I can add to my Mac and watch via the Computers app.

Have you contacted Apple? I have to call them back next week when I can borrow a device capable of screen sharing so they can see the problem as it happens.
