Thumbs up LG and Sony OLED TV prices make another move

Beginning today, Sunday, August 13th, LG and Sony lowered the prices on many of their 2017 UHD OLED TV SRPs.

Sony's 65" A1E drops another $500 to now list for $4499 and the 55" A1E drops $300 to $3299 SRP.

LG's 77" G7 goes down to $12,999 from yesterday's $15k list and the 65" W7 went down $1k so it now lists for $6999 and the 77" W7 took the biggest drop going down by $5k so SRP is now $14,999.

In addition to the new lower SRPs some authorized dealers are chipping in with additional promotional offers that bring your effective cost down further and interest free financing up to 24 months.

PS, I edited the post because I left off LG's additional gift with purchase, choose between one LG 55UJ6300 free or just take an instant rebate of $300., with any size E7 or G7 purchase.

Lots of OLED price drops. Wondering if:

a. Costs have dropped due to higher production volumes, so prices could drop;
b. Demand has slowed, so trying to stimulate sales;
c. Trying to increase sales now to move existing inventory, as 2018 models will start getting press and attention in the run-up to CES ?
d. Some mixture of some or all of the above ?

How about the annual start of the seasonal discounts as we get close to Labor Day till some time December. It use to stop at Black Friday, but last year these discounts were very apparent if you followed LG web site for example. Watch and save!

E. Lg isnt the only option now so competition is driving prices down.

Its ganna be interesting to see if year end pricing goes lower than last years did. I kinda doubt it though, which is why i jumped on a 65 inch c7 last month when it could be had for $2034. I can't imagine it will be lower than that until the last models are being firesaled next spring/summer.

LG are making OLED Panels for other manufactures like Sony and Panasonic so they must of been able to drive down the price cause of increased mass production.

Competition as well would play a part and if they want increased sales then yes price drops would need to happen.

This just in... Surprise flash sale on LG's 55" E7 and 65" E7 just started. Here's the details:

From now through Friday, 9/15 LG's 55" E7 is $2,498 and the 65" E7 is $3,498. Plus you get the choice of a free 55" UJ6300 UHD/HDR Smart webOS 3.5 TV or just take an additional $300 instant credit.

This is by far the lowest price and best additional promotional offer since they launched and the E7 will go up after Saturday, 9/16.

Here's the updates on LG's and Sony's price moves on OLED TVs.

Let's get the bad news out of the way first:

LG OLED TVs:
- LG's Black Friday promotional prices for the 55" and 65" B7 are gone forever. Today's best buy is in the C7P series that have maintained the lowest prices of the year.

Here's the good news:

LG's OLED TVs:
- As stated above LG has maintained the Black Friday prices on the C7P series and the 77" G7 and even the W7 are enjoying a strong and steady sales pace with their new lower selling prices.

Sony's A1E series OLED TVs:
- 1st, Sony has also decided to maintain the Black Friday promotion on 55" and 65" A1E series OLED at $2499 and $3499 respectfully. With some authorized dealers offering additional incentives this has become a good choice for may video enthusiasts.

- 2nd, beginning today, Sunday, December 3 and until further notice Sony is reducing the "SURE" price on the stunning 77" A1E to $12,999, and again with select authorized dealer incentives this beauty is expected to sell to a wider market base.

I would have bought the Sony A1 65" for the bedroom but unfortunately, no 3D = no sale.

I'd like to pose this question to Robert Zohn, in particular.

In terms of OLED, what do you expect we will see at the CES 2018? Will we see new OLED models introduced (by both LG and Sony)? Will we see new models with even lower MSRP price points? And, dare I ask this question, will we see the first ever 49" OLED introduced at CES '18?

Some of that plus:

e: The prices were and still are excessive to start with, once the people who were prepared to pay anything to have them bought them. Companies need to appeal to the more price conscious mob to keep selling

They might go up again after the holiday season just to come down later again, and again until they get replaced by the ultimate super 2018 models to start the cycle again.

If you want to enjoy them you should jump in at some stage. Probably many people who paid more than what they cost now might not be so regretful of wasting the extra money, except the ones who bought one last week

Sony and LG just started some of the best promotional sale prices on the most popular 2017 TVs. Here's just a few samples of this week's very aggressive sale prices.

Sony's deals this week:

77" A1E $9999
49" X900E $899
55" X9000E $999
65" X900E $1499
75" X900E $2499
65" 930E $1999
75" 850E $1999

LG's deals this week:

65" B7A $2499
65" C7P $2699
65" E7P $3499
86" JS9570 $4999

All sale prices end this Saturday, 1/20 and are very unlikely to be this low again. Some authorized dealers may have additional offers to sweeten the deal further.

I think the Visa is coming out of my wallet next week!

If you order from Robert, make sure to ask about the calibration package, they are doing HDR10, SDR and Dolby Vision. TV shows up race ready.

All LG and Sony prices go back up this Saturday 12:00pm EST and will never be this low again.

Sony's 77" A1E at sub $10k is the biggest discount item on sale as they knocked $3k off of the UPP.

good to know, thanks.

So much for considering that 930E. I was hoping it would go a little lower and then I might pull the trigger on an exchange.

EDIT: Or maybe you were exclusively referring to the OLED prices?
