Default Disney 4K release digital codes

Hi All,
So after the mess with GotG2 has anyone heard if the digital codes from upcoming Disney/Marvel releases will be for the 4K digital title? This may be a determining factor on whether I purchase the 4K versions of Thor Ragnarok and Star Wars the Last Jedi.

I redeemed Pirates 5 as UHD.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I forgot how I did it now, but it IS showing up in my Vudu locker as UHD.

Shortly after Pirates 5 released, all codes from Disney 4k discs (including Pirates and GotG V.2) have been redeeming in HD. They blame MA and AFAIK they aren't actively doing anything to change it. It'd be nice if they brought 4k redeems back for Thor and Star Wars though.

Pirates 5 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 both redeemed in UHD for a short window. At first GOTG2 just redeemed HDX then they started redeeming as UHD until Movies Anywhere took over shortly after the release of Pirates. Likely you just had the luck of benefiting from this UHD eligible time period, since lapsed.

Sorry, I'm a bit behind with all the new 4K/UHD digital copy codes...

I've just received Pirates 5 in both the regular Blu-ray combo pack and the 4K one. For the moment, I'm keeping both and will decide later on if I sell one of them. Just wanted to ask: Is there any difference to the codes inside each pack? (iTunes is my choice for redeeming Disney codes).

I'd rather open just the regular Blu-ray and redeem the code from there. This way I can decide later on if I want to sell the 4K combo pack or not.

But of course, if there's any chance the code inside the 4K pack would give a UHD download (or will be upgraded for free in the future by iTunes) I'd much rather redeem that one...

Anyone?

From my understanding, they only redeem via Movies Anywhere (VUDU etc show MA logo) but I don’t think they redeem directly in iTunes...maybe they do? Right now, the 4k no longer redeems 4k since MA started. I’ve been emailing them back and forth today and they will not upgrade mine to 4k. If it did redeem in iTunes it would be HD but eventually upgrade to 4k when Disney movies get 4k in iTunes.

Disney digital codes all redeem HD.

Disney will no longer upgrade/fix redemptions to UHD/4K.

Disney refuses to participate in Apple's 4K upgrade program and since Apple does not want to add a $5 premium for 4K films, Disney films are not available in 4K on iTunes.

Codes can be redeemed at Movies Anywhere or using an alternate link, the provider of your choice.

Do they redeem directly in iTunes? I think it’s just a matter of time before they’re available in 4k on iTunes.

The codes don’t redeem directly in iTunes but they can be translated at redeemdigitalmovie.com to give an iTunes redeemable code.

Awesome, thanks...at least that’s something if they eventually join iTunes 4k. I remember you used to be able to split codes with selecting google but I haven’t tried redeeming a Disney movie since MA began.

I redeemed the 4k GotG2 on the Disney Rewards site and it only redeemed as HD. After several emails, I was asked to call a number to speak with a Disney "Team Member" about this issue. I called, 5 minutes later I had the UHD version in my Vudu account. Pirates 5 redeemed UHD first try, but they refuse to let me redeem Cars 3 as 4K. Don't know why...any thoughts?

Disney codes no longer redeem UHD versions since Disney handed Movies Anywhere to third party representatives.
