Hoping the same. I get it the week after, can't wait.

I've been watching the trailer a lot. Really dug it.

I’m hoping it can at least do $30 million.

Anyone know how many theaters Hostiles is going to open up in? I remember reading somewhere else saying it was going to be around 3,000.

So BOM has the estimate at 3,000 but I don't believe it. Entertainment Studios also had estimates of 3,000 for 47 Meters Down and Friend Request on Box Office Mojo and those didn't happen. It will at least make it into 2,000+ though. It's certainly being advertised like a 3,000 theater release. I swear I've seen more ads for that film since it was released limitedly at the end of December than any other recent movie.

My theatre is getting:

Maze Runner: Death Cure
Hostiles
I, Tonya
Lady Bird (again, but only for two evening shows. lasted two weeks last time).

and getting rid of:

Molly's Game (which currently only has a 9pm showing)
Proud Mary (after 2 weeks.. wow. But not surprised, African American movies don't do well here)
Daddy's Home 2 (which currently only has a 9pm showing)

also..

after one week, Call Me By Your Name is moving to 9pm only.

The Shape of Water *would* come here when I'm in the middle of classes, hopefully it will still be here during my week off next month.

As move as I love the Maze Runner series, I think the third film will only do $19M. Prove me wrong, America.

I may not stop laughing if Jumanji stays on top this deep into its run.

I want Maze Runner to succeed.

I also want Jumanji to have a very small drop so it can pass Spider-man: Homecoming domestically.

Jumanji could drop 60%+ this weekend and it would still beat Homecoming.

That's happening everywhere which sucks. Right after the Oscar nominations. They maybe should have waited to go wide until this weekend. There will probably be more interest and people won't even get a chance to see it.

I thought maybe because it didn't do well in my area. But that's a guess.

Most of the general public have no desire to see a gay romance between two men, no matter how well-written, acted etc. it might be.

Also, Hostiles is going to bomb big time. Can't believe it's going to be in 2,500 plus screens.

Brokeback Mountain says hi. I do understand it's niche though. But Oscar nominations will bring interest to its highest.

And what would you consider a bomb for Hostiles?

Romance is very hard to sell to the general public. Obviously, there’s a romantic element in just about every movie. Personally, I never had much desire to see romantic movies.
