Just recently heard about this from The Hysteria Continues podcast guys, has slasher elements to the storyline, found a watchable copy on YouTube. Really enjoyed it, can’t wait to see what DC does with their presentation. On the Disc Continues cast they indicated they’re already talking to animators involved in the film and have access to pre-production sketches for the booklet. Can’t wait!

OH MY ****ING GOD!!!!

I've been telling everyone I know about this film and nobody's bloody heard of it. Personally, I love cats, I love animated films and I love gialli, and it's all three.

The American dub is really good as well (with John Hurt and Cary Elwes, no less!)

DEFIINTELY not a kid's film, though. It's basically a murder mystery about a new cat in the neighbourhood playing detective to get to the bottom of why cats are turning up brutally murdered. There's sex, cults, graphic vivisections and nightmarish dream sequences. It's bloody brilliant.

Amazing! I started watching this a few days ago on Amazon Prime in Germany, and got thinking how we would probably never see this in a better version, as this is such a niche title.

Beautiful this looks gorgeous Deaf Crocodile I cannot wait for it to release this year probably this summer if I have to guess. I love it I’m looking forward to this Blu-Ray and 4K UHD release so much. I never thought this would ever get a Blu-Ray or 4K UHD because of how niche this film is, but lo and behold Deaf Crocodile a company that comes out of nowhere decides to release it when other labels won’t, and now I’m losing my mind as it’s so exciting.

Ive only ever seen the English dub of this so that is my preferred version. I wonder if that will be included. Great movie...

Very very disturbing but yes it’s quite brilliant I know this might sound a bit crazy, but do you think we’ll get the book the film is based on with the 4K UHD plus Blu-Ray set? I hear the book is just as disturbing as the film. In fact, they’re pretty close the author was a huge fan of the film, and how faithful it was to the book. So maybe just maybe Deaf Crocodile will give us a copy of the book too. I’ve always wanted to read the book the movie was based on.

They'd have to license the novel to include it. I'm not sure who it's with currently, but it was last reprinted in the US by London Fourth Estate, a division of HarperCollins. If DC could pull it off it'd be very welcome of course.

If i remember correctly there was a german DVD Special Edition that did include the book .
But unfortunately according to wikipedia the Author is a radical rightwing, so maybe DC don't want to give him royalties for a new Book+Film combo.
This Film receiving a US UHD is kinda weird, it never got a Blu-ray as far as i know, at least not in Germany.
Also it certainly wasn't a sucessful movie , in my opinion it does have a few flaws which may turn people off from buying it.

I am wondering if DC is releasing "Werner-Beinhardt" on UHD after this ;-)

I had no idea about this, that is surprising news. I discovered Felidae a couple years ago. I was interested in it mostly out of curiosity. Seemed very well animated. I love mystery, I love cats. Though some of the scenes are REALLY hard to watch for me, mostly the gorey ones. It's nice to see that this movie is getting a 4K remastering, it'll be worth it just because the movie is brilliantly animated, though I personally wish many other international animated titles got this treatement as well.

Just got an email from Deaf Crocodile about when this is getting released well they’re releasing it in December close to the end of the year. It’s very exciting stuff
