Was it streaming on the AppleTV or a download?

Did you rewind the movie or stop it and resume playing to to see if the issue persisted? Did you try any of the problem scenes in Splash again since the first viewing?

The way you explained it made it sound as though you just carried on watching despite the problem and didn't try playing it again since.
