Default "Casualties of War" (1989) Blu-ray (Japanese superior ?)

I want to rewatch the classic war drama by Brian De Palma, starring Micheal J. Fox (in his best role), Sean Penn, Don Harvey, John C. Reilly, John Leguizamo...

From what I have found out the movie has had both a theatrical and a Director's Extended Cut version. The Japanese release only has the theatrical version and it was released in 2014, while the 2016 German release has both the theatrical and Director's Extended Cut version and it has a better picture (sharper) than the 2014 Extended version release from Holland... I am unsure how the German picture quality is compared to the Japanese release...

The three above releases are region free and has English audio tracks.

It should be a no-brainer, but I am checking with you guys on this one first...
