Default HDMI issues on TCL 55P605

For some reason my Sony UBP-X800 will play movies on the TCL through HDMI 1 but when i just go to that HDMI connection it will not show my sony homescreen? I called tech support and they couldn't figure it out either. My HDMI arc also does not recognize my arc soundbar I have to use optical. I did get the arc to work finally but it was kind of crackling so I went back to optical? I bought some new HDMI cables and am hoping this is the issue, if not it's going back to BB. Anyone have some other thoughts?

Make sure that you have Premium Certified cables that can pass 18Gbps. I believe the home screen is 4K@60Hz which requires a higher bandwidth than the 4k@24Hz for most movies.

I just bought some from Monoprice should get them today. I'm hoping this is the issue.

Have you set the TV's HDMI options to HDMI 2.0?

Quote:
Settings > TV inputs > Auto/HDMI 1.4/HDMI 2.0
ARC is enabled?

Quote:
Settings > System > Control other devices (CEC), and then highlight HDMI ARC. Press OK.
But it does sound like you're having some cable/handshake issues.

Yup HDMI 2.0 and the arc is enabled and working just crackling I'm thinking it's a handshake issue as well hopefully the new cables will fix the issue will try when i get home and update.

Yup was a handshake issue with the HDMI cables. Why would Sony include a non compatible cable with their 4k Bluray player smh.
