United Kingdom Moonrise Kingdom

Moonrise Kingdom Blu-ray PRE-ORDER

NEWS/TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9078

Quote:
The UK branch of Universal Pictures has set a preliminary release date for Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom (2012), starring Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Bruce Willis, and Jason Schwartzman. The film had its world premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival. Street date is October 1.

Note: In May, Moonrise Kingdom set a new record in the U.S. Focus Features announced that the film recorded the highest per-theatre North American gross ever for a non-animated film. The previous record was held by Bill Condon's Dreamgirls.

Fantastic news. I was a little worried that this would flop based on the fact that I was one of four people (2 of whom I'd brought with me) watching this in my local Cineworld on the opening weekend.

Hopefully this will have a Criterion-esque set of extras, or at least a few more than were on Mr. Fox

I'll definitely be picking this one up. I wish they'd start getting some of Wes Anderson's other films out on Blu though.

I'm going to see this at the cinema in a few days, but I think I'll have to pre-order the blu-ray before then!

My favourite film of the year so far - the closet rival being Hugo (which i didn't see at the cinema until March). Just a wonderful film, watched it twice and loved it both times.

Will definitely be picking this up.

Saw this in the cinema alone - I mean like literally alone, the cinema was empty. Which is a damn shame because the film was great. Personally, I think it's the best film of the year so far.

I ended-up pre-ordering it (just after posting that message) from HMV (for the artcards).

Saw it at the cinema yesterday. An amazing, great film! By far the best film of the year so far (and I don't think they'll be a better one). I would love to go and see it again, but can't because of money and time. Can't wait for the Blu-Ray release!

I'm hoping Criterion will release it in the US at some point. If they do I'll double-dip. In fact, if the current upcoming US release has any bonus features that aren't on the UK release I'll end-up buying both!

Was hoping for more from the extras (if we indeed get the same as the German edition). It's crying out for a commentary - especially one with the two child leads.

I missed this when it was in the cinemas as it wasn't on for very long up here. So will buy this day one as I love all of Wes Anderson's films and I've already heard really good things.

It's hit and miss for me, when it comes to Wes Anderson. This was one of them that did it for me.

I enjoyed it very much. Absolutely great cast (especially the young couple) and some clever/hilarious moments.

It won't be for everyone, but definitely go and pick it up if you like quirky and funny films.
