My TV is not well, and it appears to be tied in to the problems with damp at my house in the wake of a burst water pipe, which still hasn't been fixed due to my Insurance Company constantly trying to find any way out doing the extensive work required to fix the damage.
The room is in a state of damp, which seems to have already killed my 3D multi region player, and manifests on my VHS as coloured wavy lines on the image. I've been in a constant fight to try and keep the damp at bay while the insurance company, currently defying the Ombudsman's decision, do nothing to fix this. So there's damp in the TV as well, which has probably caused mould. (There's mould elsewhere in the room). Saying that, I'm not sure that the damp is responsible for this problem, as it's not the same as the images of mould in screens found online. Basically the TV went badly yellow around the edges, but it had receded a lot over time. But there's still some left that doesn't seem to want to go. It's definitely a physical problem of some kind, and it turns exactly with the other damp related problems. At this point I'm not sure if it's on the screen, or in it. I've given a soft wipe over, but that didn't seem to do anything. I use dehumidifiers, and the one in this room goes a deep yellow colour. That doesn't happen with the ones elsewhere in the house. This isn't mine, but it's a similar example to what happens with the room's dehumidifier here - https://www.reddit.com/r/AirQuality/...y_dehumidifer/ Anyone have any idea what can be done here? I need to find a way to clean this safely; I'm hoping that the yellow that's remaining isn't permanent. |
