I got this, great set. Aside from a weird green colour wobble during Good Bad Ugly (havn't yet checked my DVD version to see if its on that too), they are really good transfers.

Me and my Dad watched all three in a row a few days after it got into my mailbox I loaded my TV into my car, packed up my home theater and carted it around to my folks place... hassle as but it was great haha

For those that are interested this is £9.99 over at play.com at the moment. At that price it would be rude not to so I have.

£9.99 for 3 classic westerns on Blu-ray That's just absurd

Apparently the quality is worse than DVD according to some reviews I've read. Could anybody confirm, thanks in advance.

Never seen them? Where have you been?

You're in for a treat - 3 classic westerns. The general consensus is that The Good/Bad/Ugly is the best of the 3, though personally I prefer the first 2 films. The second one - For a few dollars more - is one of my all-time favourite movies. The on-screen dynamic between Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef is great (and look out for a fantastic scene between Cleef & Klaus Kinski in a saloon)

Not true, the only problem is that TGTB&TU is the same transfur as it's old version, so Fistful and Few look better than it. But they're not going to look overly great anyway, they were made way back in the 60's.

I watched them all in order on week and you can see them progressivly get better each film, Fistful of Dollars is great (and is probably the most lighthearted out of the 3) A Few Dollars More is greater (and the Darkest but more charistmatic than the other 3) but The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is the Greatest (it's got it all crammed into 3 hours yet never feels like a bore)

The more I talk about it, the more I want to jump on the offer, £10 is an amazing price for the 3

fistful of dollars is great, a few dollars more is even better (one of my fav westerns) but the good the bad the ugly is a snooze fest and to campy for my liking, I never quite understood how it's generally considered the best of the 3, if not one of the best westerns ever made. Eastwood's wonderfully typical stoic amoral character that was built up in the first 2 was destroyed almost completely almost to the point of humiliation. It should have been a 2 1/2 hour film at the most by cutting out all that civil war stuff towards the end that felt disjointed anyway, would have flowed much better without it IMO.

I would like to hear, seriously, what is it about TG TB TU that people love so much.

I have the US release trilogy which looks quite good, considering, on BD. Does anyone know is this UK set has a different transfer?

Well TGTBaTU is a prequel to the other 2

Highly engaging, beautifully shot, brilliantly performed and that score.

Wow...someone that actually agrees with me about TGTBTU. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a "snooze fest" but it's definitely overrated (& too long). I completely agree about the first 2 - FoD is great but FaFDM is even better.

I thought mine would arrive this morning it didn't, just a Sharleen Spiteri CD and an already opened and damaged boxset from ASDA which looks knackered when I put it on my shelf next to other titles. It should come Monday though, I hope.

Mine arrived from Play yesterday... in pieces. The plastic cases inside the box were completely smashed. So that's going back for a replacement. I wish Play would package their stuff a bit better than the soft jiffy bag things they persist with, this is the main reason I generally buy from Amazon.
