Adult Swim Games and Soleil Games have announced a new Samurai Jack game is in development. Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It appears to closely resemble the original animated series, pairing the iconic animation’s art style with 3D graphics and hack-and-slash action.

An official Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time announcement trailer has been been released, and it highlights the upcoming title’s gameplay.

Phil LaMarr will return as the iconic voice of Samurai Jack, and Greg Baldwin will continue to provide the voice of Aku. Also, many favorite characters will also make appearances in the game, like The Scotsman, Scaramouche, and Sir Rothchild. Furthermore, this game will closely tie into the series’ finale.

Originally, Samurai Jack started its life as an animated series on Cartoon Network in 2001. The series ran for four seasons, ending in 2004 without a solid conclusion. However, twelve years later, a final fifth season of the series aired during Adult Swim’s Toonami block. The story finally concluded on May 20, 2017.

The last Samurai Jack game to be produced was Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku for Nintendo GameCube and Playstation 2 in 2004. The game featured an original story set in four different worlds.

Adult Swim has also released some Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time screenshots alongside the announcement trailer. It seems that in game, Jack will be able to wield a variety of long and short range weapons:
