Gregory Peck Centennial Collection Blu-ray
Just saw this up for pre-order. Anyone know what's going to be in this yet? I'm hoping some unreleased titles like Roman Holiday, but I have a feeling it will be rehashes, or possibly Roman Holiday with three already released titles, so we'll have to double dip on three of them. It's a Universal Studios release, so probably To Kill A Mockingbird and any other titles starring him that they own. I believe Roman Holiday is a Paramount title, unless it's changed hands.

I'm interested in this since I share my birthday with Gregory Peck. Hopefully this set will contain features unavailable on Blu-ray throughout the rest of the planet. But if it's repackaging the same discs in a new set, I'm not impressed.
Even owning To Kill a Mockingbird, I'd like another release where the grain static button wasn't turned on during encoding. |

Hoping at least for ARABESQUE and MIRAGE! In addition to what will surely be repackagings of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and CAPE FEAR.

VideoETA just put up a listing for this.
http://videoeta.com/movie/products.html?id=187448 No titles, but it has the MSRP $29.99 and says it's 2 discs. There is a corresponding DVD set that has 3 discs. |

Peck can be pretty wooden, but he still won a Best Actor Oscar

I suppose so, but Peck doesn't sit right with me. I've never been able to empathize with his characters. Despite the fact that he's often trying to come off as the most intelligent guy onscreen, it doesn't seem like he is reaching deep for anything.
I probably should have refrained from saying that he "wasn't much of an actor". It probably wasn't the right way to share my opinion given that there will obviously be a lot of GP fans in this thread. I just don't get a lot out of his performances. He has been in some really good films though. |
