Indicator are known to be releasing this soon, so it might be worth holding off for now, they will surely offer the superior, region-free package.

Possibly superior, but not necessarily. While the Indicator version will almost certainly have better extras, their edition of Modern Romance was from an older master than the one Sony later released. That could be the case again. As you said, best to hold off and see which is best.

True, but in that instance the US release followed 10 months later. I'd be stunned if Indicator utilized an older master for Birdy given that theirs is being released after this US one.

Man, what I wouldn't give for an Isolated Score track in 5.1. Won't happen, but one can dream.

Happy to see this finally get a BD release. The last time I saw this was 34 years ago (!!)

I saw this on initial release, and was loving it up until the last scene. I thought the ending pretty much invalidated everything that had preceded it. I then looked up Pauline Kael's New Yorker review, and saw that she had the same reaction! Then I read the book, looking forward to see what the ending really should have been. The book was quite wonderful--up until the end, which was just the same as the movie. I was quite disappointed...

It doesn't even have a release date yet, let alone technical specs or a list of bonus materials.
