Chicago Fire (the television series) on Blu-ray

The UK Blu-ray releases of the television drama series Chicago Fire ended after the sixth season, but have continued in Germany up to and including the season before the current one (the eleventh season was released in Germany late last year). Hopefully, the twelfth season will get a German Blu-ray release later this year.

I could swear there was an existing Germany sub-forum thread, but couldn't find one after doing a thread search.

Credit to fellow member "Kasim": they posted in the Chicago Fire Blu-ray thread in the UK & Ireland sub-forum a few days ago that the most recent season of the show will be getting a German Blu-ray release on Thursday 21st November (title and release date are subject to change). If the release date stays the same, it will be three days after the most recent seasons of Fire, P.D. and Med are released on DVD in the UK (different from previous years apart from Med (the UK DVD release of that the past few years has been in November).

With this season of Fire (like with P.D. and Med) being a shorter one of 13 episodes, the German Blu-ray set should be I think three discs.

Apologies if you have already posted thoughts on the show from watching television airings elsewhere on here, but hopefully you'll enjoy the Blu-ray boxset of the first twelve seasons. Off the top of my head, Season 3 was one of my favourite seasons of Fire (I remember there being three crossover events that season).

The Season Twelve Blu-ray set will have three discs (expected it to be three discs, maybe four). Next season (the current season) should see a return to more discs as it should be full-length (plus, a new three-part crossover event is in the works for later this season). Supporting the German Blu-ray releases will (I assume) increase the chances of them continuing.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the show, then (assuming you haven't seen them) if you enjoy P.D. and Med from the crossovers (there is also the short-lived Chicago Justice as well later on), you can try out those shows. Fire's first season includes a backdoor pilot for P.D. later on.

My copy of the German Blu-ray release of Season 12 arrived this past Sunday. One of the plastic clips holding the discs holder in place was loose, but I was able to put it back in place (all three discs were there and there was a slipcover).

Note: For those in the US, Universal appears to have switched to DVD-R discs for the US releases from Season Twelve onwards. There is also a back cover available for the US DVD-R of Season Thirteen:
