With the film having premiered at Cannes and no embargo on the reviews, there seems to be a quickly multiplying number of spoilers out there. Some have already been posted on the regular thread, I'm not sure all of them were appropriately tagged.
This seems like the ideal time to start the IJATDOD spoiler thread! ![]() |

If the spoilers are true (always take things with a grain of salt), Indy and Marion are separated but do reunite for a happy ending.

I got this from the detailed spoiler over at Reddit. The link is somewhere in the other thread. Ending spoilers below in case you don’t want to be spoiler’d too much.
The original speculation of killing Indy was bad, but Helena punching him to the point where she knocks him out (don’t have him shoot a gun, kids are impressionable! But the knockout game when Grampa isn’t listening, OK!) while they’re at the Siege of Syracuse isn’t going to go over much better with audiences. She punches him because he’ll change history too much if he stays, even though Archimedes has already gotten hold of the bad guy’s watch that will change history, the watch which has somehow survived a fiery plane crash that has left said bad guy burned beyond recognition. Because without that watch there’s no dial! ![]() And the payoff is going back to an apartment in NYC, to see Marion tell Sallah to go get some ice cream, and Sallah sings “A British Tar” as he walks out, so that she and Indy can recreate the injury-kiss scene from Raiders. ![]() Also, the German bad guy reveals he wants the dial to kill Hitler, because somehow Hitler’s responsible for Germany losing. You know, cause he’s the bad guy but not really the bad guy, because Hitler was really the bad guy. [Show spoiler] ![]() |

I think that all the speculation and back and forth of the years has jaded people to a lot of stuff. I am tuning it out, way to much stuff to enjoy to allow others to ruin things as soon as they exist. |

Isn't Mutt too old to die in Vietnam? He was born in, what, 37? 38? That would make him ~28 when the first ground troops land in 65. Isn't that too old? Unless he was one of the special forces guys who died in the 50s?

It’s a dark fate for the character and a blow for Indy, but I get it as there was no way they were bringing Mutt back. |

Hasn’t Mangold always said the ending wasn’t reshot? I tend to believe him unless there is any solid proof otherwise

It's not out of the realm of possibility that they shot multiple endings from the start, especially for a movie like this that pretty much pulls the curtain over the franchise.

For the love of God, can you PLEASE put the words “SPOILER THREAD” at the BEGINNING of the thread title? It is impossible to tell this is the spoiler thread on mobile until you’ve already clicked on it! This just happened to me on Guardians Vol. 3 a few weeks back also.

I’m surprised some people are wondering if this is legit. It seems to coincide with a lot of the early reviews. The spoiler author says Dial is 100% worse than Crystal Skull and really boring, so maybe even if his spoiler reads OK the movie really is a mess to watch: bad pacing, bad cuts, dialogue that doesn’t work, etc. Quote:

Having now seen the movie, I can say that it was (at least for me) so so so much better than Crystal Skull. The Prologue is fantastic (in fact I wouldn't have minded an entire movie in that timeline, the de-aging was 95% spot on). The third act is just weird (kinda like the aliens in CS) and Harrison Ford is a bit too old to really sell the part. But most of the movie is really, really solid. And the score is fantastic, I didn't mind the recycled themes one bit. Honestly, I never thought we'd get another Indy movie, let alone a decent one, so I'm not complaining.
