Why am I getting this when I try to play movies that I own on my pc (HDX or UHD) :
Playback error Oops! This title won’t play in this quality on your display due to copyright restrictions. It can be played only if your output and display support HDCP. It gives me the option to exit or watch the sd version. Never used to be a problem before. This seems to have just started recently. Any remedies? Thanks. More than likely this has to do with your HDMI connection. I would make sure your drivers are updated. |

Mine's been doing this for months. I never figured out a work around so I generally try to watch my movies on PC through Itunes if they're MA, or on my TV through Vudu. I'd be happy if someone does post a work-around though.

How big is your Monitor, I have a 27" Dell and still don't watch Movies on there. Now my Sony UHD TV is 65", and that is where I do all my Movie watching.

First, try clearing your browser cache, cookies, whatnot. If it used to work but now doesn't, that might be the culprit. Next, try updating the browser, flash, and/or silverlight (if your computer uses that). If that doesn't fix it, think about what you may have done before you got these errors. A new browser extension or setting could have done it. If you bumped any cables, even.
I remember someone got this error before but I can't remember how we solved it. ![]() |
