I Want To (AKA G.I. Samurai / Time Slip) 4K UHD (1979)

Kadokawa will release Kôsei Saitô's I Want To (AKA G.I. Samurai / Time Slip) (戦国自衛隊) (1979) on October 28th, 2022. This will be a three-Blu-ray edition, with the film on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, a Blu-ray bonus disc and a fourth disc that is a CD soundtrack.

Unfortunately, at this point, English subtitles are not indicated for this release. The audio options also appear to be divvied up between the two formats, with the 4K UHD disc featuring a new Japanese: Dolby Atmos remix. The codecs for the other audio tracks have not been revealed, so for the time being I have listed them as Dolby Digital, to avoid possible disappointment.

This seems to have similar presentation to Kadokawa's release of The Inugami Family (1976) from last year, in that there will be a Blu-ray bonus disc, elaborate packaging and associated paper materials. One difference here is that there will be a fourth disc, a CD soundtrack, but the translation appears to say that the CINEMA-KAN label will be releasing an expanded CD soundtrack in 2023.
