The other thread didn't show up in the search when I typed in "12 Monkeys".

Doc Emmitt Brown coming:

Quote:
12 Monkeys: Christopher Lloyd to Guest Star in Season 3

Christopher Lloyd, who’s best known for his portrayal of Doc Brown in Back to the Future, will play a character named Zalmon Shaw. According to SyFy’s description, Shaw is a deadly, but charming, cult leader who recruits people to join the Army of the 12 Monkeys. He’s also the father the show’s villain, the Pallid Man.

Additionally, 12 Monkeys co-creator and showrunner Terry Matalas will make his directorial debut in the premiere episode, which just started production in Toronto.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqKBVhMjTMQ

Earlier this month, SyFy released the first teaser trailer for the new season. James Cole and Cassandra Railly are on a desperate search to find the man responsible for the apocalypse, a time traveler only known as the Witness.

Though not much else was revealed about the new season, you can expect plenty of time traveling and plot twists.

12 Monkeys was renewed for a third season earlier this year. It will have 10 episodes, and the show's executive producers, Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, are promising an "even more twisty and emotional chapter of this time travel adventure.”

Season 4 will be series finale:

Quote:
‘12 Monkeys’ Renewed For Fourth & Final Season On Syfy; S3 Premiere Date Set

The plague is returning in the spring but will be over sometime next year. That’s today’s news from Syfy about its series 12 Monkeys: Season 3 will bow in May, with all 10 episodes will air over three consecutive nights, and it has been renewed for a 10-episode fourth season likely in 2018, which will be its last.

As for the spring bingeing, Season 3 bows on May 19, with the first four episodes back-to-back starting at 8 PM. Then three episodes will air from 8-11 PM the next two nights.

“With its time-twisting themes and edge-of-your-seat storyline, 12 Monkeys is the perfect show to air this way,” said Chris McCumber, President of Entertainment Networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “It’s grown into a world well beyond the original film, and after seeing the creative strength of Season 3, we couldn’t wait to pick it up for a fourth season.”

Based on the 1995 feature film, 12 Monkeys follows the journey of Cole (Aaron Stanford), who is sent back in time from a dark, hellish future to prevent it from ever happening. Joining forces in the present with Dr. Railly (Amanda Schull), Cole must defeat a centuries-old malevolent organization known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys. As Cole, Railly and their unlikely allies get closer to the truth, they’ll learn there are deadly consequences for all of history — and time itself. The cast also includes Kirk Acevedo, Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Todd Stashwick. Christopher Lloyd is joining as a guest star on Season 3, and Hannah Waddingham, Faran Tahir and James Callis will recur.

10 episodes of season 3 in just 3 back to back nights? This just doesn't make any sense to me.

If the same article didn't say that they already approved season 4 I'd think they were killing the show off on purpose.

Maybe trying to appeal to the younger binge crowd? Maybe trying to pump it out to get it on a streaming or syndication contract? I'm just glad we get 4 seasons and a definite end.

Even if that's what they're aiming for, actually AIRING them on tv that way is odd. It'd be one thing to do like Freeform did with Beyond, or even what NBC did with Aquarius s1, where they put them On Demand and on the app but aired them week by week for those that didn't have that option.

I wonder what made them reduce s3 and 4 to 10 episodes each, honestly 10 will probably be better since it'll be three less episodes to fill with filler. I'm glad it got a final season though, there's only so long they can drag it all out.

Excited for the three day marathon of Season 3 starting tonight. I checked my DVR, and it has each episode being 46 mins long. So, I guess they will have very limited to no commercials for the four episodes tonight.

Well anyone know if SyFy is going to air the episodes again? Had a bad storm here and lost the satellite signal for about the last 15 min of episode 3 and first 15 of 4.

Going by my Comcast menu, none of these episodes are airing again in the next 14 days.

Looks like it's free to stream of SyFy as long as you have an accepted cable provider to sign in under. So would that be the On Demand service?

Darn it! Woke up today and noticed my DVR deleted the first two episodes because the show was defaulted to only keep 5 episodes at a time.

So now I have to find a way to watch the first 4 episodes. Really stupid on SYFY to not re-air the episodes later.

Given that I missed the first night of episodes, and that I enjoyed the first two seasons, I just bought season 3 on Amazon Video.

Stupid to run the season all at once with most shows, but then there's something worth discussing happening each episode of most shows that won't be completely rewritten by the next episode, literally. This show is so convoluted that airing them all at once is the only way to make anything intelligible out of the events.

[Show spoiler]End of Ep 10? Wait, what? Is Jennifer Coles' daddy now?

Why does Ramsay need to kill Cassandra to stop the witness, he could just time jump back to the past and shoot Cole in the balls?

On the same note, Jones is responsible for time traveling time Jesus Cole, so go back in time and blow up the splinter machine before she sends Cole back, and that stops the witness right?

Oh wait, the witness was not the witness. **** this show, seriously. **** this show.

I've just finished Season 3. It's a great series, but there's a HUGE PROBLEM -------- and you guys already know I'm the time travel fiction expert.

I mean:

[Show spoiler]It's not a fixed timeline. Okay. But a timeline which has been altered and "now" there are many LOOPS/CYCLES (The Army of 12 Monkeys, the Witness, the Messengers, Cole's missions and so on).
Okay.
How did some EVENTS manage to change themselves anyway? Magic? God?
How did Cole manage to spare Ramse at the end of Season 1 if that "always happened" and "already happened" in the way Cole killed Ramse?
How did Cole manage to prevent 2 Paradoxes if those "always happened" and "already happened" that way, without Cole stopping them?
Some things can change, others can't. HOW???????? There's no logic. There's no plausibility.
