United Kingdom Seraphim Falls

Can anyone confirm if this film has been transfered in its correct aspect ratio (2.35:1)? The reason i ask, is because the U.K dvd version was a cropped 1.85:1 transfer

Hello,

We were actually sent the entire Icon Home Entertainment catalog so we will have a review for the film very shortly. To answer your question though, yes, the Blu-ray release preserves the film's original aspect ratio of 2,35:1.

And I think I'd prefer the opened out DVD if it didn't crop heads.

(I should also like to add that the director made what is without a doubt my most favourite short ever, Bullet In The Brain).

I'd think they'd both come from the same master, maybe the German release had a bit more electronic sharpening.

The German disc is brand new, the UK one is 12 years old and compressed to death.
