This is a film that really needs a good blu-ray. I probably will hold out for the inevitable lower priced UK version though.

I hope they add a few extras. I contemplated buying the German release but no extras and I really don't need a DVD or the remake so I held off. I'm glad I did.....

I really hated the German Blu-ray. They letterboxed it like it was Ben-Hur. It seemed like it was at a 2:55.1 ratio. As long as it doesn't look anything like the German Blu-ray I will buy it.

It will most likely be a new scan as nearly every Fox Blu TT has released has been a brand new scan.

It was a widescreen film. It should be 2.35.1. I don't know if the German blu-ray is that aspect, but I think the DVD I've seen is.

Never seen the original only the remake which always cracks me up. A British friend of mine said that I must watch this one, as it is the funnier of the two.

All of the DVD's I have ever seen on "bedazzled" were released in the correct ratio. I am an expert on the film and I can tell you that the German Blu-ray is the widest this film has ever been released. Ben-Hur is the only film I have that is wider. The German release is the wrong aspect ratio. It is one of the few releases I have come across where they have released normal widescreen movie (2.35.1) as if it was shot in a 2.55.1 ratio. I just noticed that "National Lampoon's Class Reunion" has been released with a 4K transfer and 2nd audio commentary. I will bet you anything that a classic film liked "bedazzled" will not get that kind of treatment.

Is the German Blu missing picture info on the top and bottom? Or does it have extra info on the sides? Also, the aspect ratio of the old US DVD is incorrect, as the picture is horizontally squeezed. Nice quality control there.

I noticed no additional picture info on the German Blu-ray, but the U.S. DVD does have a bit more info then the U.K. DVD. Twilight is a good company and I am sure they will do it right. I still can't believe "National Lampoon's Class Reunion" gets the 4K treatment while "National Lampoon's Animal House" didn't and "National Lampoon's Vacation" has music replacement ("I'm so Excited" was removed).

Bedazzled (1968) was really the first time most people in the U.S. had been exposed to wacked out British humor. Peter Cook and Beyond the Fringe were a big influence on Monty Python and it would be years before America would be to watch Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Peter Sellers movies had brought British humor over a bit earlier than that. But Bedazzled and Magic Christian certainly did make an impact.

Peter Sellers And the Goon Show were also a big influence on Python.
