Gucci grossed almost twice as much as RE last night despite only having showings later in the evening (starting 7PM; RE started 3PM). It'll come out on top.

Despite my disappointment with it, I hope Gucci does well at the box office. Scott deserves a financial hit after how badly The Last Duel bombed last month.

Releasing Resident Evil at the end of November was stupid. This should've been a Halloween movie or have been pushed to January.

I wonder if this will even make $15 million domestic. RE movies have always been frontloaded, and this has even worse WOM than most, plus opened so low.

It's too bad they didn't time the release to be at the same time as Resident Evil 8. Maybe that would have helped.

Resident Evil will make a profit after international returns - that franchise has always been an international play. Depending on the source, it was made for $25 to $40 million.

House of Gucci was made for $75 million and is going to need some nice holds to make a profit.
