Need help with film title

I've recently have been trying to figure out the title of a film from my childhood and have had no luck.

The film starts off as live action with the title character going into an animated world with very similar art style to that of Chuck Jones' animation. The kid ends up fighting a few enemies and beating them with grammar. Like the words would manifest themselves into the physical world and hit a few of the monsters.

Eventually the kid goes back to the real world where people are flying kites and he's pretty happy and what not.

It used to play a lot on the Disney channel during the late 80's and early 90's or Cartoon Network, but I'm not 100%. It was on a lot at one point.

Anyone have any idea what this movie might be?
