one of those out of the blue movies getting a steel when i felt like a couple others would have had one/more worthy like Bad Times At The El Royale & White Boy Rick. i thought the former would have had an immediate steel at least.

As someone that has worked and served on submarines for nearly 25 years now, I can tell you that as a submarine movie this one was embarrassingly bad.

Surprised to see this movie holding at 34.99. Good canddate for a 27.99 then 19.99 , 3 weeks later.

Just out of curiosity, which one of these did you like best and or found more accurate (assuming you have seen them);

Hmm. Das Boot for crew closeness, Hunt for Red October for generalities of everyday submarining, Crimson Tide for......nothing really??

I haven't seen a submarine movie that comes anywhere close to looking like an actual portrayal of what it is like. They always make it too fantastical. But real submarine life would be a boring movie.

The movie Below did a pretty good job with some details, as does Down Periscope! But this movie was REALLY bad, though control did look a lot like it does on a VIRGINIA class sub, they just didn't operate it like a real sub AT ALL.

Just don’t ask how far they dive.

Back when I was working as a defense contractor there was an ex-Navy guy there and he would give us stares when when we jokingly asked hoe far he dove while at sea.
This was over 20yrs ago, so I’m not sure if it’s still a touchy subject with submariners.

There is a sub guy that works at my local Best Buy. He is pretty cool and we got alot of stuff. He doesn't always like my Navy jokes.
