Great to hear about the 3D. For 20 bucks, I will see this for the 3D and the CGI looks great IMO. Sammy 2 Turtle's Tale 2 3D was mostly entertaining especially for the very strong 3D. I will watch that one again soon.

While most on here are well aware of Ben Stassen's directing and 3D capability and both the "Sammy's" show off great 3d depth and stunning imagery - I would really like for Stassen to be picked up to direct a major Hollywood blockbuster (worthy of his direction/3D work) and open the eyes of viewers to the power of 3D once again!
House Of Magic only got a small screening run here in New Zealand and it was only in 2d - I didnt see it myself, but asked someone who did if they thought 3D would have added to the movie and they pretty much said it was obvious that 3D was intended to be used in this film........ Looking forward to this title - hoping theres some items that seemingly float in my viewing space (as is the case for "Sammy's" outings* Chris *3D like this isnt essential for me to enjoy a movie, I like to be immersed in the film.....Stassen Just brings a whole new dimension to films without being "tacky" ![]() |

Based on the title, I wonder if the movie's location will primarily be inside the house? If there are a lot of objects in there, and with the magic of floating objects, I can imagine this will be another great showcase for 3D.
Off Topic: Hopefully Stassen, who is a big part of these films, becomes a little less pessimistic about the state of 3D in theaters, as he seems to feel the only good 3D is filmed/native 3D. I wonder how he feels about the strong 3D of the direct conversions of Jurassic Park and Titanic 3D conversions? I can imagine that if his films are accepted by distributors in the US theaters, he'll possibly feel a little better about the situation. He seemed to be hoping for the decline of converted 3D films in theaters based on an interview article we read about recently on this forum. With Pacific Rim from 2013, and 2014's Edge of Tomorrow and Guardians of the Galaxy's 3D showing that conversions can be great, as a few recent examples of hybrid conversions. |
