I don't remember liking Courage all that much, so this is probably a pass for me. What would a prequel even be, how he became cowardly? The two old people back in their prime? Meh.

For me, Courage is the only Cartoon Network series that I revisit frequently. The humor and horror elements still hold up for me as an adult. If more original CN series had DVD releases then I'd rewatch them, specifically Ed, Edd n Eddy and Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

I'm always skeptical of prequels and sequels but I'm willing to give anything a chance.
