United Kingdom Last Man On The Moon Blu Ray.

Just seen this advertised on Amazon, not heard anything about it. So i was wondering if anyone here can tell me if it's any good?

Have you bought the blu-ray? And is it indeed a BD-R?

That's a good one, yeah. The director, David Sington, is a really nice bloke too.

They're all great if space / the Apollo era is your thing.

For All Mankind is just incredible. The footage quality is amazing. I'd get it 4K

Moonwalk One is another film well worth watching.

Unfortunately though it has never been released on Blu-Ray and the DVD (the UK edition anyway) appears to be OOP...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Moonwalk-One-Directors-Cut-DVD/dp/B002D2VYRG/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1474537255&sr=1-1&keywords=moonwalk+one

... it's well worth checking out if you can track down a DVD copy or if not it's on YouTube.

Moonwalk One is superb and ideal for a Eureka release.

I have the UK release and can confirm that it is not a BD-R unlike the US version linked in this thread.

Yeah that's another great one. Have that myself.

Another series I would highly recommend is the 1998 HBO mini-series 'From The Earth To The Moon' (produced by Tom Hanks and Ron Howard, who of course made Apollo 13 together a few years earlier).

It's available on DVD but still no Blu-Ray for this either

I've just done some checking on Amazon and I think the one you bought might be the US edition.

There is another separate listing here...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01JGPZM6G?psc=1

...this edition has the UK BBFC rating on the cover as well as the official Blu-Ray logo on the top of the case.
Perhaps this one is pressed while the other is a BD-R ?

It was my understanding that BD-R titles are not allowed to use the offical BDA logo hence the plain text on the case of the other edition.

I got the UK version from Amazon last week, but there is a constant green horizontal line at the bottom of the screen throughout the movie while playing on PS4. I contacted Mark Stewart Productions but they ignored my message (sigh). Anyone else have a problem?

Yep. My copy is the same. I'm a bit disappointed. I find it a little distracting.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I would advise others to avoid buying the UK version. Shame on them for releasing it in this state and not responding to my enquiry. Negative product review incoming.

Yeah they don't seem to be too bothered about doing anything about it.

So it now comes down to this...

UK version
Pro: pressed disc
Con: green bar at bottom of screen

US version
Pro: no green bar
Con: BD-R (burned) disc.

... neither release is perfect.

Did they fix the issue on the Special Edition (2017)?
