Default Enderle: Nintendo Caused Blu-ray's Victory

Another gem from our favorite, Rob Enderle. As soon as I thought the guy couldn't get any dumber, there is this:

http://www.itbusinessedge.com/blogs/rob/?p=182

In a nutshell, he proclaims Nintendo's supply shortages shifted people to the PS3, thus sparking Blu-Ray sales -- in turn handing victory to the format. He does backpedal on some of the ridiculous claims he made before, however. But like a true fanboy, he never concedes that Sony and the BDA actually got anything right. In true loser fashion, he credits Blu-Ray's victory to virtually everyone but Blu-Ray.

Thank goodness the end is near for him to be able to bash blu. Once a clear and final victory is here, he will have nothing more he can say, maybe

Yeah, and Clinton won the NH primaries because the grocery store was in short supply of 2% milk yesterday.

You can't take anything this guy says seriously. He is a complete moron.

If there wasn't already enough proof he prefers upscalling to real HD. he is probably the same guy who thinks that 720P is good PQ.

Thanks for the link! I had some pent up anxiety, so posting on his commentary kind of helped. See if you can guess which one is mine....

Experience and economics tell me that someone who only wants to spend $250 on a Wii as a first choice is not going to turn around and spend $399 or $499 on a PS3 which is a second choice. Especially if people are willing to pay those higher prices for a Wii (see Ebay). It is catering to a different market. I know this guy is a paid shill and an idiot but if you are going to make such ridiculous claims have some evidence to back it up... and no delusions do not count.

This is my comment to Mr. Enderle...

If you are indeed the president and principal analyst for your own company, I fully expect that your client base is about to drop considerably. That article quite possibly could be the most industry ignorant stringing together of words I have ever read. You CANNOT truly sit there and say that Blu-Ray won this so-called “format war” because the Nintendo Wii was not available in stores. I suppose the fact that Blu-Ray has more studio support than HD DVD had anything to do with it, or that Sony had the foresight to put a Blu-Ray drive in the PS3? I also suppose that 52 weeks of Blu-Ray outselling HD DVD (even on “Transformers” week) didn’t have anything to do with WB deciding to become Blu-Ray exclusive? You are an idiot sir, worse than that you’re a Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt spreading idiot, and you should have used your analytical mind to look at both formats and judge which one is best for consumers instead of using your personal feelings (or are you a paid shill by Toshiba?) to pick your favorite and inferior format. A wise man said it best…”Content Is King.” and HD DVD didn’t have, doesn’t have, and never will have content.

isn't there a retirement home he can take up residence in and move on peacefully instead of getting involved in a battle he doesn't seem to understand?...

The dude has seriously lost it. I don't think he ever had it to begin with, but if there was any doubt, there shouldn't be any now.

Re: comment #2

I guess I wasn't clear with my comments wrt Nintendo. The x360 and ps3 are direct competitors in terms of HD presentation and a general focus on pretty graphics. The Wii was aimed more at people seeking complete physical immersion in a gaming system, and is not an HD system. This is why many Wii owners also have another platform.

The guy is spreading FUD after the fact, I couldn't resist tearing into him.
