I'm right now using a Intel NUC i3 Skylake as a iTunes media server with Windows 10 Home installed. I also installed iTunes and iHomeServer software so that iTunes in Windows acts like a background service in Windows rather than an application that I have to exit manually before I shutdown Windows. I just want to press the power button on a Mac Mini when I want to home share to my Apple TV and turn the Mac Mini off when I'm done home sharing to my Apple TV without any user interaction with the operating system on the Mac Mini and without losing resume points in movies. All my purchased movies are from the iTunes store. Will a Mac Mini do what I want? Will it be be worth it to stop using my NUC with Windows, iTunes, and iHomeServer installed as an iTunes media server and just buy a Mac Mini?
