Default DeepDiscount.com?

Is this pretty good site to order from?

They have the Complete Star Wars sage for $62.99. I just want to make sure it is a reputable site. TIA

Yes they are good to deal with. Deepdiscount and DVDPlanet are both owned by the same company.

My family and I have ordered from them many times and usually they're good. My last Transaction wasn't the best as they had an item listed that they decided a month later they didn't have, but I got a refund. They won't defraud you though so I'd say go for it.

Yes, they're on the level.

They've shipped all my orders from California (where I'm guessing they're based), and since I live in the Midwest, it takes them at least a week to arrive, but it's been worth it due to their occasional great deals.

They were very good in the couple of times I have used them. Picked up the Ten Commandments Collector's set when they had it for $9.99 around Black Friday!

Yes, this site is good to deal with. Lately, they've been getting better, too, as they've been known to ship things SLOOOOWWW, but I got an item with free shipping within days on Black Friday.

Well, you'll get what you order eventually, but they overcharge shipping on boxed sets, have lousy customer service & their shipping is slower than molasses in January.

Be careful about pre-ordering pricey items, too, because they will do numerous temp charges on your account to ensure you have the funds. They will drop off eventually, but it's something to keep in mind.

They're legit, they just don't always act like it. I don't have any serious reservations about ordering from them when the price is right. Just don't expect to get your order for at least 2 weeks (it might arrive faster, just don't expect it to), assuming they actually have it in stock when you order - which their stock status is extremely unreliable.

I can't stand DD. Hate 'em. Won't buy from them. Too unprofessional.

I emailed them on December 8th about price matching my Mary Poppins BD (as they state in their price match policy), with Amazon. Haven't heard from them since.

I posted on Facebook today and I see where it'll get me.

A*holes of the biggest degree.

DeepDiscount.com has always been a bit lacking, but their customer service has completely gone down the drain.

I placed an order on May 19, received a confirmation email and the order displays in my account history. Since then I hadn't heard a thing, so I contacted customer service. The reply I got back said that my order hadn't properly been entered on their end, so I would need to place it again. I hadn't been charged, so I had no issue with that.

Unfortunately the sale prices were no longer active, so I contacted customer service again asking for them to be honored. Here is the response that I received:

---
We have been advised that the reason your order did not download was because the account is set to deny future orders due to your account history. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You may also give our customer service department a call at 800-264-5076. Representatives are available:

Monday through Friday 8am - 7pm CT
Saturday 9am - 5pm CT

Again, thank you for writing DeepDiscount.com. We appreciate your business.

I have never had any sort of issue with DeepDiscount.com until recently, when PayPal transactions would still be charged upon cancellation of an order without a refund being processed. This caused three separate incidents where PayPal claims had to be filed, all three of which were decided in my favor. DeepDiscount's complete lack of customer service is the only reason that I can think of for my account being denied.

Clearly you've been banned for initiating claims/chargebacks. They no longer want your business. The real question is why would you want to do business with a site you had to open three separate claims against in order to be made whole?

I neglected to mention that I have been a customer for 10 years and all three PayPal claims were in the past six months. Each took a month to complete.

Since DD readily admits that their system will immediately process PayPal transactions instead of waiting until orders ship, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and switched to a credit card for my final order. I'm glad that I did.

Again, the claims were not unjustified. I placed orders with DD paying through PayPal. DD was unable to fill the orders and cancelled them but would not refund my money until PayPal claims were opened.

Thumbs down

When I had to return something because it came damaged, they refused to pay for return shipping and the shipping container was not damaged. My point is that they are responsible for getting an undamaged item in my hands.

Also, they refused to provide the base refund after I had shipped it back on my dime. I had to contact the attorney general to get a refund. This was regarding a purchase made via their Web site. I will NOT do business with them again OR recommend their service to anyone. You are dealing with them at your own risk.

I don't think that's a problem on DD's end. As far as I know, that's just how Paypal works... with takes the funds at the time of placing the order and sends them to the seller, no matter what you are buying, and regardless of whether it's an in stock item or a preorder.

It was the same thing regarding the PayPal transaction being immediately processed when our son preordered the "Laurel & Hardy:The Definitive Restorations" Blu-ray set with PayPal via wowHD.ca back in May. That's just the way PayPal works.

CHEERS!

What's the easiest way to return something to DD for a refund? I'm thinking about just refusing the package. Any unforeseen cons with this approach? Thanks.
