Default Suggestion on series to watch next from my collection

So I pretty much just blind buy a crap ton of anime series when there’s a deal... my gf and I are slowly making our way through some series... here’s my list of anime: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/searc...ecentlywatched

Here’s what we gave series we’ve watched so far...
Avatar (I know not rly anime) = 10/10
Cowboy bebop = 10/10
Food wars s1 & s2= 10/10
Made in abyss = 9
School-live= 8 (just finished today)
Castlevania = 7

Based on these and my collection, what would be a solid choice for next series?
Sincerely,
Anime noob

I see you have Akira.
If you haven't watched it yet, it's a must see.
Mind, not sure how your GF will feel about it...

You kinda have a lot of new anime and not a lot of classic titles (or at least, classic titles are that not newly released on bluray).

So I would say One Punch Man, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, and Redline.

But be warned, these are top of the top animes and might spoil your appreciation for the genre

Oh shoot yeah, most of the heavy hitter movies We’ve seen. Like all Ghiblis, akira, ghost in the shell, ninja scroll. Loved them all.. i guess I’m more of a noob when it comes to tv series

Wolf Children if you guys want a really good cry.
Patema Inverted, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Your Name and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time if you want something to tug at the heart strings but not necessarily shed m/any tears.
Paprika, Night is Short Walk On Girl and Fireworks if you want something kind of trippy.
Yuri!!! On Ice and No. 6 if y’all want something a little gay.
Haikyu!! if you like sports, namely volleyball. A+++++ in my book, and I hate live sports.
Deadman Wonderland, Death Note, Elfen Lied and Tokyo Ghoul if you want something awesome but also a little bit messed up.
Soul Eater and Beyond the Boundary because turning yourself or your blood into weapons is cool.
Miss Hokusai and Only Yesterday are simple stories that keep you intrigued.
No Game No Life if you want something hilarious.
Mary and the Witch’s Flower for the incredible animation and story.

I'll back-up the suggestion for NGNL since it's series you're looking at.
A lot of fun to get into and not heavy on the mind.

I lub me some Moribito, but be warned that if you like the show, you'll be sorely disappointed as it doesn't continue past the first book and the overall story of Moribito is pretty good. I've read the English-translated books and they too left me wanting more since the rest of the novels were not brought to Murica.

Yes. Most anime are not adaptations, but merely commercials for their source material.

Wolfs Rain - Amazing story, but depressing. One of my favorites.
Black Lagoon - you want explosive action and humor
Elfen Lied - Disturbing, violent, intriguing
Deadman Wonderland - Action, messed up, great story

Just a start. I will comment on more later

Just thought I'd mention, NGNL has a film 'prelude' as well, called "NGNL:Zero" and though a prelude, best to watch after the series.

It's a little heavier than the series and the ending will hit ya right in the feels but it is very good.

3 eps into elfen lied... pretty cool but effed up. Dub audio quality was so bad, switched to sub real fast. I know peeps are hardcore about sub only but I think dubs I’ve watched so far have been decent to excellent in quality.

Did stranger things lift a good chunk of plot from this or what?

finished elfen lied last night... pretty solid and messed up til the end... gf loved it too, guess she's effed up too, ahahh.

I think that main melody is one of the most beautiful pieces of music in an anime I've seen thus far.

we're a few eps into FLCL and one punch man... both are so stylistic and opm is super funny

I doubt it. The psychic child who has experiments done to them by scientists is really just a trope of science fiction in general. The Duffer Brothers mainly seem to riffing on John Carpenter stuff and 80s movies like The Goonies.
